Reverend Adam Clayton Powell, Jr. was a politician and pastor who represented Harlem in the House of Representatives between 1945 and 1971. He was the first person elected to Congress from New York of African-American descent.
I have been inspired by him for many years. His WHAT'S IN YOU HAND SPEECH continues to motivate me beyond many trials I persevere through.
This video is one I have posted numerous times to bring into focus how we should never lose sight of that which we already have available right now. WHAT'S IN YOUR HAND, is a question I have always asked myself, but using different wording. When you query your own situations, especially when it appears nothing is going well, you can't see your own positive solution as a way out, this will help you. Question yourself, continually if necessary, write it down, meditate on it day and night, however you have come to cope with finding your way out - "WHAT'S IN YOUR HAND?" I know beyond a shadow of a doubt your answer will be revealed, your hope will be restored and you will feel empowered.
So my friends, regardless of whether you're happy or sad, feeling you're on solid or shaky ground, it's a good exercise despite the climate in your life to do a check now and then. LIFE CAN ALWAYS BE BETTER.
